Daily Evening Class for Vegans, Vegetarians, or Meats (4:00 pm to 9:00 pm)
As the sun begins to lower over the rice terraces, your evening begins. We pick you up from Ubud at 4:00 PM, whisking you away from the busy town center to the peaceful highlands of Taro. This isn’t just a cooking class; it is an immersion into Balinese night life in the village. Upon arrival, you are welcomed with warm tea or coffee and local snacks, setting a relaxed tone for the evening. Your experience starts with a walk through our organic gardens during “Golden Hour.” The light is soft, and the air is cool. Armed with a bamboo basket, you will harvest the fresh ingredients for your dinner—long beans, chilies, and aromatic ginger—right from the earth. Your guide will explain how we farm in harmony with nature, using no chemicals, just as our ancestors did. As dusk settles, our open-air kitchen comes alive. The sounds of the jungle—crickets, frogs, and night birds—create a natural orchestra around you. Under the warm glow of the kitchen lights, you will grind spices for your Base Gede (spice paste) in a stone mortar. You will chop, stir, and grill your way through a 6-course menu. We don’t make you wait until late to eat. We cook the appetizers, then sit down immediately to enjoy them hot. Then, we return to the kitchen for the main courses. The evening concludes with a communal dinner. You will sit with your fellow cooks, share stories, and enjoy the incredible meal you created, before our shuttle takes you back to Ubud with a full belly and a happy heart.

Your culinary journey begins with a comfortable pick-up from our meeting point in Ubud at 12:30 PM, whisking you away from the midday heat of the city center and into the cool, lush countryside of Taro.
